Our grass-fed beef grazes on a rich pasture of grasses and legumes. The herd is moved onto a fresh paddock of pasture twice a day. This ensures our animals are getting the highest quality forage for themselves, and producing the best possible product for you. Our animals do not receive any antibiotics or hormones, or as we put it “nothing creepy.” Beef is available in November. Bulk beef orders require you to put down a non-refundable deposit to reserve your share. You can pay the deposit by mailing us a check.
Halves of are $3.60 per pound plus processing fees ($425 deposit).
Quarters are $3.70 per pound plus processing fees ($225 deposit).
Eighths are $3.80 per pound plus processing fees ($125 deposit).
Our beef is priced by hanging weight, and is usually around 60% of the animal’s live weight.
This means approximately 180 to 216 pounds of beef per half, 90 to 108 per quarter, and 45 to 54 per eighth.
The total weight, with beef, fat, and bones, will be about 300 to 360 pounds per half, 150 to 180 per quarter, and 75 to 90 per eighth. You will pay per pound for the total weight.
We will work with you and the butcher to have your share processed into the cuts you love the most.
Processing fees are approximately $32.50 per half, $16.25 per quarter, and $8.25 per eighth - plus $0.63/pound for halves and $0.68/pound for quarters/eighths. For more information on custom processing, click here.
So in total, for a half of 300 pounds, you would pay about $1080 to G+G and $221.50 for processing.
For a quarter of 150 pounds, you would pay about $555 to G+G and $118.25 for processing.
For an eighth of 75 pounds, you would pay about $285 to G+G and $69.45 for processing.
We will deliver your share for free if you live within 25 miles of the farm. Outside of that radius, either you can pick it up or we would be happy to drop it off for a $25 fee!
